1. PURPOSE

This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the SAFE Terms of Service (the "Terms"). The terms "SAFE," "we," "us", and "our" include SAFE, SC Innovations (and any entity controlling, controlled by or under common control with SAFE, SC Innovations). This Privacy Policy explains our online and offline information practices, the kinds of information we may collect, how we intend to use and share that information, and how you can opt out of a use or correct or change such information.

2. SCOPE

SAFE is a security and health assistant service that permits authorized users to send emergency alerts, communicate with AI health assistants, and share safety information via a supported smartphone or other supported devices using the SAFE mobile application. This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information that is Processed by SAFE in the course of our business, including on the SAFE website and other websites owned by SAFE (each a "Site"); the SAFE mobile application and other mobile applications (each an "App"); forums, blogs, and other online or offline offerings.

All individuals responsible for Processing Personal Information on behalf of SAFE are expected to adhere to this Privacy Policy. This Policy applies to all of SAFE's operating divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and branches.

3. TRANSPARENCY/NOTICE - TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

3.1 TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

SAFE collects Personal Information regarding its current, prospective, and former clients, customers, users, visitors, and guests (collectively "Individuals").

Information You Provide Directly to Us

When you use the Products or engage in certain activities, such as creating an Account with SAFE, responding to surveys, requesting Products or information, or contacting us directly, we may ask you to provide some or all of the following types of information:

  • Communications with Us: We may collect Personal Information from you such as email address, phone number or mailing address when you choose to request information about our Products, register for SAFE's newsletter, request to receive customer or technical support, or otherwise communicate with us.
  • Registering Products: When you register with us and use the App, you generally provide us with Personal Information such as your name, email address, user name, password, phone number and other registration information. Registration with us is mandatory in order to be able to use the App.
  • Health and Safety Data: Text messages sent to the AI assistant, images and medical documents shared, audio recordings (if enabled), conversation history with SAFE, health questions and concerns, emergency alert data, SOS button activations, and emergency contact information.
  • Location Information: If you give the App permission to access Location data, the App will collect your GPS location at the time you send an emergency alert. A map indicating your location will be available to the recipients of the alert. You can disable this feature by turning off the location function in the "Settings" menu of the App or on your phone.
  • Contacts Data: To provide you an opportunity to automatically connect with your contacts, we may, with your permission, access and store on our servers Personal Information regarding your contacts, including their names, email addresses, phone numbers, and profile images.

Automatic Data Collection

We may collect certain information automatically through our Apps or other Products, such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device's device ID, your IP address, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, crash information, information about the way you use the Apps or Products, cookie identifiers, mobile carrier, mobile advertising identifiers, MAC address, Advertiser ID, and other device identifiers.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Products and services
  • Process and complete transactions, and send related information
  • Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests, and provide customer service
  • Communicate with you about products, services, offers, and events offered by SAFE
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Products
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities
  • Personalize and improve the Products and provide content or features that match user profiles or interests
  • Coordinate emergency response services and share critical information with emergency responders when necessary

5. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent or share your personal or health data with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • With Your Explicit Consent: We only share your data with your explicit and informed consent.
  • Secure Service Providers: Hosting and AI services with strict security guarantees and confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your data if required by law or to protect public safety.
  • Emergency Services Coordination: Share critical information with emergency responders when necessary for your safety.

6. DATA SECURITY

SAFE takes reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We implement medical-grade security measures to protect your data:

  • AES-256 encryption for all data
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • End-to-end encryption for sensitive communications
  • Secure and encrypted backup
  • 24/7 system monitoring
  • Regular security audits
  • Restricted access to sensitive data

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal and health data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and all your data
  • Export your conversations and data
  • Manage your privacy settings
  • Control push notifications
  • Withdraw your consent at any time

8. DATA RETENTION

SAFE retains the Personal Information we receive as described in this Privacy Policy for as long as you use our Products or as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our Products, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws.

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active, deleted 30 days after deactivation.
  • Conversations and Health Data: Retained for a maximum of 2 years, automatically deleted after this period.
  • Emergency Alert Data: Retained for 1 year for safety analysis, then automatically deleted.
  • Location Data: Retained only during active emergencies, deleted immediately after resolution.

9. INTERNATIONAL USERS

By using the Site and/or the Products, SAFE will transfer data to servers as indicated in this Privacy Policy. By choosing to visit the Site, utilize the Products or otherwise provide information to us, you agree that any dispute over privacy or the terms contained in this Privacy Policy will be governed by applicable laws. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, please note that you are agreeing to the transfer of your information and Processing of your data globally. By providing your Personal Information, you consent to any transfer and Processing in accordance with this Policy.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Products are not directed to children under 13 years of age (or other minimum age as required by local law), and SAFE does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, you may alert us at: privacy@safercity.io. If we learn that we have collected any Personal Information from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child's Account.

12. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. You understand and agree that you will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy if you use the Products after the updated Privacy Policy is posted on the Products. If at any point you do not agree to any portion of the Privacy Policy then in effect, you must immediately stop using the Products.

If there are any material changes to this Privacy Policy, SAFE will notify you by email or as otherwise required by applicable law. We will post any adjustments to the Privacy Policy, and the revised version will be effective immediately when it is posted (or upon notice as applicable).
